Desperate Measures: Hunger Forces Pakistani Parents into Heartbreaking Decisions

Desperate Measures: Hunger Forces Pakistani Parents into Heartbreaking Decisions

DONATE - The child's parents said that they are forced to try and sell their child because of extreme poverty. My heart smithereens when I saw these parents in rural areas of Pakistan (Cholistan Desert) recently have the signs on their kids for sale just because they can not afford or have any food to feed them. Local governments or any humanitarian agencies have not offered them any assistance in more than a year of time. They told me that they know a family who wanted to sell their child, who is less than two years old, because of the family’s difficult economic situation. “we” are in a really difficult situation; we have nothing to eat or anything at home to sell so we can buy some food and necessary products to survive. We are forced to sell our daughter so we can get some money to live on for the next couple of months.

The young brother said, “Our living conditions are really difficult uncle; please help us so that my sister will not be sold”.

A father has sold his very young daughter for less than $2000, to survive I asked him why he did this. He said “Did I Have a Choice? You Tell Me.' And He's Not Alone”. There are more than 50 kids that have been there to be sold in just this area of Pakistan.

“It has been a couple of days since I heard that people are selling their kids. I swear to God that I can’t eat or sleep. I have kids on my own”.

Your $10 could feed 5 kids for a day, we will use these funds to implement food, health, basic needs, day to day supplies to these families. We will help them to stand on their feet’s so they can be a part of healthy society and help their families grow without the fear of hunger.

I want to reach out to each one of you who is reading this; help me to help these families please, so they don’t sell their kids.
